KELVIN

Kelvin was born in Southern California and raised in Charleston, South Carolina. He received his B.S. in chemistry from the University of South Carolina in 2002, where he was mentored in polymer chemistry by Prof. Uwe Bunz. He went on to earn his Ph.D. from MIT in 2008 under the direction of Prof. Stephen Buchwald, conducting research in synthetic organometallic chemistry. Following a year as a visiting scientist with Prof. Heather Clark in Biomedical Engineering, he pursued postdoctoral research at Stanford University with Prof. Paul Wender in Medicinal Chemistry and Prof. Daniel Spielman in Radiology. From 2013 to 2020, he served as an assistant professor within the California State University system, with appointments at San Francisco State University (SFSU) and California State University, Fullerton (CSUF). In 2023, he joined Loyola University Chicago, where he is now an associate professor. He lives in Chicago with his wife, Alison, and their daughter, Hazel.
